The Padres lead the series 9-7, so to take it we need to sweep them. Let's do it.
And looking ahead to next weekend, we play the Astros. That has the real chance to be a meaningful series for the Astros, so we could play spoiler and eliminate them (like the Orioles did to the Red Sox 5 or 6 years ago).
As much as I would like the Astros and AJ to make the playoffs....

With Casey Kelly and Robbie Erlin going in this series for the Padres, I see that they are at the "seasons over, who gives a shit" part of their rotation.

Cubs-Pirates under way. Cubs clinch with a win today. 71* at Wrigley, 87* here.
I was at game 1 of our NLDS against the Cubs. Only playoff game I have been to. It was awesome.

Same here; with our D-backs crazy daughter. Only playoff game we've ever attended; and yes, it was awesome.

Those of you who have seen past Dbacks playoff games should treasure the memory because I greatly fear it will be a long, long time before we see another Dbacks post-season game. In the NL, it now takes a winning PCT of .582 just to qualify for the wild card! How many seasons have the Dbacks played .582 or better? Once. 1999.
* * * * *
They brought in players with the idea of beating the Dodgers this year, but when the books were closed after yesterday's games, I think the Dodgers cleaned up on us handily. In the years ahead, I don' t think the Dodgers are going to stand pat. They should win the division for the next god-knows-how-many years.
* * * * *
So bring in more players for 2016. It's been suggested we sign Mike Leake. In 4 games at CHASE, Leake has pitched 23.2 innings, given up 30 hits, 18 runs, 17 earned for an ERA of 6.59. Just what we need, huh? Give him a gazillion dollars and watch him lead us to a division title, right?

Fiesta Night at PETCO tonight
Gonna put up with the Padscasters tonight so I don't have to listen to Todd Walsh
talking about having his back rubbed.
He'll be feeding his face somewhere in the park I'm sure and may find some girls
to chase.
Dick Enberg and Mark Sweeney on the call tonight
