Rubby was named the 4 th starter by Chip Hale.
Good article by Nick Piecoro about the situation.
Wouldnt have been my choice, but I get why they are doing it. When on, he goes deeper in games and if he can fix the issue vs. left handed batters he will be good. Big if, but at least there are specifics in the article about what he is trying to do differently. Hope it works.
I thnk Ray will be better, but neither is a given at this point.

Not a very good spring for Rubby.
Still waiting for him to come around

De La Rosa will not need another TJ surgery, Dr. Andrews said after look at recent MRI. Ligament stretched. DLR sees Aug/Sept return

My sons ligament stretched. They had him do a ton of re hab exercises to tighten it back up, but it didn't work, and he still needed the surgery after 3-4 months of that. But we elected not to do the surgery and that was the end of his pitching career.

Did they mention PRP Injection Therapy? I doubt that PT alone could do anything for a ligament that healed in the stretched condition.

No, that was never mentioned as an option for my son. No idea if they mentioned it for Rubby

Since it's mentioned on Andrews site I suspect that's what they are doing with Rubby. It seems to be a modern variation of Prolotherapy, which I'd be tempted to look into for my knee if not for the worn cartilage on one side, and the fact that it doesn't appear to be covered by insurance.

Anything that could've been done to prevent this, or is it just a pitching is bad for the arm thing?
