Segura was part of the Greinke to Anaheim trade, ironically. I don't hate this trade. Does this move Ahmed to the bench, or to 2B?

My guess is Segura goes to 2nd and either Ahmed or Owings play short with the other being a super utility guy.

Hope you guys have better luck with Segura than Milwaukee did. The only time he's put up above replacement level numbers is the first half of 2013. He hasn't been much since, and now he's going to start getting expensive.

Looks like Segura was originally a 2B, played there in RK and A, until the Angels moved him to SS in 2010. He has not played any other position, since.

Was Segura the player that got hit in the head in the first week or so of this past season, against the Cubs? Any effects from it or is he the same?

I'm expecting very little out of him.

Hill is gone and room for younger players is opened up. But I can't praise anything else besides that.

This organization has to be run by the biggest idiots employed by a major league baseball team. Anytime they get into trade negotiations with anyone they are pretty much going to be trading more for inferior players.

At least this is more of a bad for bad swap than the typical Kevin Towers overpay.

I don't know...4 years of Anderson, a promising prospect in Diaz and what sounds like money to cover most if not all of Hill's contract is a lot to give up just to clear a guy off your roster.

To be clear, the amount of money AZ is sending to cover Hill's contract is "undisclosed." My guess is that it would have to be more than half for Milwaukee to bite on this.

Ahmed and Segura suck at hitting, but Ahmed is a much better SS so that would be a big downgrade if Segura takes his spot.

If Segura will be near the top of the lineup, there are going to be lots of outs made.

I was just thinking today that the D Backs could really use a guy that has better than league avg walk rates. (about 7.7%) There is Goldy, at 15-16% and Lamb at 8.5% last year, but everyone else, including Pollock and Peralta were below lg avg in walk percentage.

So of course they add Segura who had a 2% walk rate last year and 4.1% for his career.

Idiots

And that Stew apparently thinks because he is fast, he can hit leadoff. Excellent work braintrust

I mean they actually managed to find a guy that not only walked less than Chris Owings, but walked less than half as much as Owings and had the lowest walk rate in all of MLB

I kid you not
