I thought hockey just ended. Is it starting again already?

Well, yes it ended last month. It starts in October. I am already looking forward to this season. The Coyotes are coming off their best season ever. We lost our best defensman to Pittsburgh and replaced our top center with a journeyman, but they should still be good.

I'm still worried they might leave

Me too. I had the Whalers ripped from out from under me in CT. This would be the third team that has left that I have rooted for (Sidewinders)

Hockey does not belong in the desert. I am surprised there ever was a team here. I used to go to Whalers games but that seemed normal.

Why doesn't it belong? Just because it's hot outside? Hockey is such a unique sport and really is the best sport to watch live. You are lucky to have a team in the desert, I just wish more people realized it.

I hope the Coyotes never move. I probably never would've watched Hockey without them, and it's just so much fun to watch in person.

In commemoration of the 09-10 season...

I suspect there may be sound, but I don't have my hearing aids in, and don't feel like getting up to get them to watch a youtube video. I hadn't realized Datsyuk hugged Bryz and said something to him for a little bit. Kind of classy, then again they were Russia team mates.

Some solid news on the sales front.
Phoenix Coyotes president: More groups interested in team
Quote:
The new president of the Phoenix Coyotes says he has recently met multiple parties interested in buying the team, besides Ice Edge Holdings, which has been in negotiations with Glendale and the NHL for months to buy the team, and apart from on-and-off suitor Jerry Reinsdorf, owner of the Chicago Bulls and White Sox.

Sure there are more buyers. They want to move the team to Canada.

I am really hoping this isn't another Whalers. The ownership set unrealistic goals, when they weren't met, they moved the team to Carolina leaving behind the Whaler's banners and retired numbers. Without even a second though.

At least it seems like the league is planning ahead for a franchise in Phoenix. Coyotes hoping to get the allstar game in either 2012, or 2013. Ironically, the 2011 game is expected to go to the franchise I referenced earlier.

Good article interviewing Mike Nealy. He was recently named the Coyotes' chief operating officer, replacing Doug Moss, who had been designated team president.

Waiting for the signing of Stemp and Hanzal. Can't wait for the season to start, anyone want to catch a game this season? I plan on going to a couple.

I'm hoping I can go to the Stars/Coyotes game in Dallas on the day after Christmas.

Stempniak at 1.75 for 2 years could be the signing of the summer if he does it again! Nice job Don Maloney! Most goals next to Kovalchuk!

Hopefully that rate is low enough to bring back Hanzal!
I think he needs to be back more than Stemp!
