Two defensive backs from John Jay High School -- identified as sophomore Victor Rojas and senior Mike Moreno by the San Antonio Express-News -- have been suspended and could face criminal charges after one hit referee Robert Watts from behind and the other subsequently speared him with his helmet during a game at Marble Falls, which is located about 90 miles north of San Antonio.

It appears the attack was in retaliation for teammates being ejected from the game earlier.

Both Rojas and Moreno were suspended indefinitely from the team and from school. The Marble Falls police said in a statement Monday that no arrests have been made, but the department is conducting an investigation.

Reminds me of a NHL game I played a lot many years ago. I think it was EA NHL 2000. After the whistle blew you used to be able to hit/slash players AND the refs without penalty for about 5 seconds. So we would play online games where as soon as the whistle blew we went after the refs.

I think I remember that! It was on Sega too (what we had).
