Interesting first day so far. I heard one of the commentators say Chambers Bay is not a true links course, mainly because of the elevations. It's becoming increasingly obvious that Tiger is done, and I'm a huge fan. He will never be able to claim the title of best golfer in history if only because his game has faded so very fast. Too bad, it would have made for some interesting conversation ten or fifteen years from now as to whether Tiger or Jack was the best all-time.

The course doesn't show well on TV
I'm sure it's in much better shape than it looks

I don't like this course at all. Just too much of the ball ending up on the opposite side of the fairway from where it landed....balls rolling backwards 50 yards if you miss an approach.....
and it's just ugly as sin on TV
Also, because of the terrain, you don't see the fairways lined with people. Doesn't feel like a US Open. Feels like a mini tour event where nobody goes to watch
Might need a FIFA style investigation to figure out how this course got awarded the US Open

A great story unfolding with Jason Day.
