ASU and UofA are second tier teams in the PAC. Final standings will be - USC, UCLA, Utah, ASU (7-5/5-4), UofA (7-5/4-5), Colorado.

That's about right. I've been telling everybody in Tucson that this season won't be better than 7 or 8 wins. UA caught more big breaks last season than I could recall UA catching in the 25 years leading up to it. Hail Mary's, onside kicks, late turnovers. UA managed to pull 3 wins out of 4 games they should have lost, and that's not happening again this year.

Further, RichRod needs to examine the defensive strategy. They're in year4, the defense has not improved one bit, and better personnel is only going to help so much. It's a high-power league with several potent offenses and the scoring environment should be considered, and even though RichRod has a strong relationship with and is loyal to Casteel, that side of the ball isn't winning any games.

Offensively, it's difficult to argue with the results. I've always preferred a passing/pro-style offensive scheme - future NFL players want to play in NFL-style systems - and I question how well-suited the read-option scheme is when you're down 4 needing a TD and less than 2 minutes remaining in game, but the offense has consistently generated points/yardage since RichRod arrived.

And is from Arizona. As was UCLA's last stud QB as was TxA&Ms current QB.

Both Rich Rod and TG need to do a better job of keeping these guys home.

The company line is that Bo left for a great opportunity.

Anyone heard yet what that was?

Come on dude didnt break any laws by banging an of age student. Its not like what the ufoa track coach was doing.

Come clean ASU.

Dude probably needs a redshirt. Don't know what his plans are for the draft, but I don't think he was going to be taken early before the injury. He has to be seriously thinking about at least one more year now.

Great game for ASU in Pasadena, expected dumpster fire for UA in Palo Alto. I think we're all seeing why Anu started as a frosh last season, Randall's throws are a joke. There are always going to be struggles when the QB and best defensive player are out, but it's disappointing to see such a lack of personnel on the defensive side of the ball. Combined with a 3-3-5 scheme that doesn't seem to match the personnel, it's difficult to see this team keeping up with opponents until the offense is back clicking at full strength.

Great game for ASU on defense. I still see a mediocre offense. I don't think they've had a solid "O" line since 1996. Their receiving corps, outside of Foster, is mediocre at best. Outside of Foster, I don't think any player on offense strikes fear into opposing defenses.

When did grey become an ASU team color?

Thank you uofa for softening up the Bruins for us.

College football is a free for all this year.

Always a great day in Arizona when ASU wins and uofa losses. You could tell in the neighborhood all the houses that had the PAC12 network had people over. At halftime those driveways emptied out fast.

I would think South Carolina would be very tempting for RR. The SEC is the top conference. Maryland, No. Texas, and Illinois would be lateral moves at best. USC wouldn't want RR.

Not so fast on the USC job. If I remember right the Trojans did all right the last time they hired a UofA coach.

Also Maryland's biggest booster/Alumni guy owns Under Armor and wants so badly to make the Terps the next Oregon. If you want that up tempo style that all the kids love and you know Rich Rod would love to be closer to home WV and stick it to Michigan in the Big 10. Rich Rod makes sense.

Bottom line Rich Rod coacch at UofA next year?

If no who do you guys start looking at?

Here is a name your DH like AD should have in his pocket. Jeff Brohm.

ASU offense is tough to watch. Sorta like watching Trevor Cahill when he was with the Dbacks.

Yeah, RichRod is packing up and leaving right as his son is entering his senior year as QB at his high school. And his daughter is a cheerleader at the same school he coaches at. And there's a dynamic AD and committed University President. And new facilities. And fan support. Preposterous.

As a head coach, RichRod has left one school in the last 20 years and that's because it was Michigan. Anybody would be stupid not to take that job. You don't see any of those voluntary lateral moves. He sticks. RichRod ain't going anywhere. Except South Carolina. That's a legit threat if they come calling.

The better question though is why wouldn't Todd Graham go to any of those places first? ASU is the same stepping-stone job but with a more fickle fan-base.

But Rodriguez is not happy with the PAC12 and their scheduling, which is unlikely to change anytime soon. I could still see him jumping ship to coach back East.

Yeah, GHansen was saying RichRod has a vacation home 1-2 hours away from UofSouthCarolina. That might be a draw at some point, but not before the conclusion of the 2016 season. He's staying at least through 2016 when his boy completes his high school QB career. His daughter will have graduated, or be very close, and then everything is on the table for the beginning of 2017. His son will be playing QB somewhere other than Tucson, his daughter will probably be working somewhere other than Tucson, and good for RichRod if he has an opportunity that makes him happier.

He also has a great situation at UA that only coaches that have been through the ringer can truly appreciate and he'd be silly to leave the low-stress environment behind. He's already proven he can win at Arizona and has full support of AD/President/Fans, he can afford the best house in the city, and the Catalina Foothills' winters are much nicer.
