Here't the situation:

I'm in an auction style keeper leage that I'm in dead last. I own Mariano Rivera at $41 and his salary will remain at $41 this year (and I have enough room to keep him). I'm punting this season and have a trade offer for Alexi Ramirez who is currently $0 and will be $4 next year. I own Yunel escobar as my current SS. Do you pull the trigger on that deal? Odds are I could even go after Rivera again as he probably won't be kept by the team I'm trading him to.

Is it even a lock Rivera is coming back to the Yankees next year? I guess this is a good deal if you are looking for some payroll flexibility though ;)
