Aha! Hurdle doesn't leave in relievers more than two innings. You don't suppose we can get to this Kansas City reject, do you?

Three straight hits and here's Shawn as the tying run. Who's warming up for Colorado?

We're pop-flying our way out of a big inning...

The vets haven't done it... Maybe Drew can do it?

Do you think ESPN would be able to tell us when was the last time, in a major league baseball game, that two guys with the same name played in the same game, each on a different team, and both got a hit?

And to split it further, hit it to each other on the field. Shocked

OK, that worked out. Question: They don't count intentional walks in the pitch count, do they?

It has to be a pitch to be called a ball.

Except Melvin should be committed permanently if he EVER pinch hits Easely for Drew (unless Drew gets injured). Lefty-righty mantra doesn't apply--Drew hits lefties as well or better than he does righties.... and Easley??? Fergetaboutit

Luis Gonzalez/Luis Gonzalez? I'm sure it's happened nearly every time these teams have met the last few years.

Well, OK, I won't do the research because I don't think it would significantly add to the humanity's accumulated wealth of sports knowledge.

It's so embarassing to issue an intentional walk, then walk the next guy unintentionally.

Back on July 8, Brian Fuentes gave up 6 runs to us. There is hope, O Faithful Flock.

The embarassing thing is to have your ace start, being a Cy Young candidate, and give up 7 runs.

Elias Sports Bureau keeps track of that stuff...

It's probably happened several times since Luis Gonzalez's have been on Rockies/Dbacks

Similar took place a few years ago whenever the Cubs faced the Marlins when Alex Gonzalez's played shortstop for the two clubs.

I gotta wonder how much that throwing error by Tracy affected Webb

It's official: we are toast.

Doggers are idle - we didn't gain ground...
St. Louis beat Cincinnati - we didn't gain ground...
Gnats are beating the Pods - we didn't gain ground...

Sure didn't help Webb with regard to the CYA...

Depressing...
