On Monday, November 6th...

Kelly Carr / The Arizona Republic wrote:
BUCKEYE - Brandon Webb's passion for helping children has led the Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher to Verrado.

On Monday, Webb will host his second K-Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament at Verrado's Raven Golf Club.

The event will raise money for Webb's K-Foundation, which provides several programs for at-risk, critically ill elementary schoolchildren. The 27-year-old Webb established the foundation in 2005.

The K-Foundation provides assistance, programs and events to build self-esteem, provide life-changing opportunities and help children set and achieve goals.

Funds raised at the golf tournament also will benefit a literacy program at one school in the West Valley.

Todd Hornback, town manager of Verrado, is working with local schools to find out where the greatest need is for "K is for Knowledge," Webb's program that encourages elementary schoolchildren to read.

Residents who enter the tournament have an opportunity to play golf beside Webb, future pro football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice and other Diamondbacks team members.

"We chose the Raven Golf Club at Verrado because of the outstanding level of play the course presents and the exceptional service provided," Webb said in a statement. "We know our golfers, whether they're beginning or pro, are going to enjoy themselves as they spend time playing on this beautiful desert course."

If they are, let's just start moving threads for the heck of it. I've always wanted to be arbitrary and capricious.

No way you're getting both. I'm arbitrary, you can be capricious. Razz
