I'll take 'rique ( 3-3, 5.27 ) over Nolasco ( 10-7, 4.15 ).
Let's load the lineup with lefties and smoke the fish!!! |

Hoping for a nice performance from Green tonight, to help persuade the Muts pony up an offer and get this bum off my team

Nolasco has been racked by the Mets three times and Washington once, but against everyone else in recent starts he's been quality. |

Those bases-loaded triples can be exhausting for a 23-year old like Carlos. Better sit him for a few days and let the vets show him how it's done.

Marquee matchup in LA tonight - Schmidt vs. Maddux - 5PM ESPN. Yankees lost today so Moviegeek and I are having a good day so far.
Padres winning big over Houston, Rockheads slight edge over Cubbies.
Giambi hits 34th today, Pay-Rod hits his 25th. Doesn't this make Giambi more valuable than Payrod? |

I can only hope that Green starting today is because there is a Mets advance scout in the stands and if they want to have any chance of trading him, they have to play him.
In the meantime...when did Gonzo become Lou Gehrig?

On July 20, 2006, immediately after Gonzo threw a hissy fit over Carlos Quentin starting.

It was a good pitch to Jacobs. Maybe got just a little to much of the plate. |

Here we go again...
Down 1-0 with runners on 1st and 2nd with only 1 out...
It's deja vu all over again...

A K and a GB and we're out with a minimum of damage! So there's still hope!
Let's go, Diamondbacks! Get it back--and then get more!

It looked for a while there like the smoker was going to back fire and smoke us out, but G got the big 1 out K and took care of Amezaga so we were lucky to get out of that with only 1 given up. Too many pitches that inning, I hope he settles down. |
