Rockies to win. Well they were wrong about the Cubs and Dbacks so might as well be wrong about this series ,too.

I can't say I blame them. The Rockies seem like they are where we'll hopefully be next year (offensively) if things work out well. They are down right scary.

This should be one hell of a series.

I just hope it isn't Seven games because I have a charity golf tournament I must attend on Friday, and I won't be home until very late that night. Hopefully there will be a 7-8 start time in Phoenix so I could at least catch the 2nd half of the game Wink

Dave Burns says Rockies in WS; Paola Boivin picks D-backs to advance.

The Rockies are the obvious choice in the National League Championship Series, considering that they've won 17 of their last 18 games.

But hold on.

(Ken Rosenthal's details
HERE.)

I picked both the Diamondbacks and Rockies in the first round, and I am again adopting a contrary position for the NLCS.

Prediction: Diamondbacks in 6.

I'll go out on a limb. I predict the Diamondbacks in 7. Each team wins all its home games. Twisted Evil

I've got the D-backs with the sweep. D-backs win the first three and Jesus wins game 4 all by himself in a twist-of-fate laugher.

Conventional wisdom - and most baseball pundits - said next year was the season the Diamondbacks would contend for a pennant.

They are loaded with young talent. Five starters in the lineup they will send out for tonight's National League Championship Series Game 1 are 25 or younger, including starting rightfielder Justin Upton, who turned 20 just two months ago.

Champions aren't born from promise. Just ask the Devil Rays, who would love to have the four postseason appearances Arizona owns in 10 years of existence.

The Diamondbacks ended up with the best record in the NL.

No one told them they were a year away.

"See, I don't understand how people can say that because we're a young team," said Upton, younger brother of Devil Rays centerfielder B.J. Upton. "We go out and try to win just like any other ballclub. We go out and play just as hard as a team with a bunch of veterans. In that aspect, we're just as good as anybody else. Our results haven't been a surprise."

Oden stealing my thunder...

I told shoewizard on the phone yesterday that all this talk of close series with low scoring games and real nail biters going into extra innings makes me think this series would be over in a NYC minute.

Maybe not a sweep, but I can easily foresee a 5 game affair. And I'm pulling for the Dbacks win it, you know...

I'm going Dbacks in 5.

I think the rocks will beat up Livan.

It's still hard for me to imagine this series not going 6 or 7...

So I'm going for Dbacks in 6 (just as soon not have a heart attack w/ Livo likely going in a game 7)

Since they've added a day off in between Games 4 and 5, Webb could go on short rest for Game 4 and be on full rest for Game 7 if necessary. I think that all depends on our record after Game 3...

I'm with that logic. I commited on the radio to AZ in 5 -- possibly 6.

I can easily see this series going all 7 games they way both teams have played...
My prediction: A senario similar to the 2001 WS game 7 win where it's down to the last game and we rally in the 9th inning... Gracey will jump out of the broadcasting booth down into the dugout and start his "You gotta believe" chant to the guys and rally them to victory. Wink

No matter what, it's certainly going to be a slugfest! No sweeps here.

Anybody remember if we were favored in 2001 to beat Atlanta? Can anybody pull up an article on that? Just curious.

But in the 2007 NLCS.

Arizona in 6.

I just remember a lot of articles expressing how no one in the NL wanted to face the Dbacks because of the two-headed monster of Randy/Curt.

Heck, we've got a two-headed monster just in Micah Owings. Rolling Eyes

I say Dbacks in 5.

With Brandon Webb winning twice in the NCLS, the D’backs will reach the World Series late next week.

D’backs in seven.

Rockies sweep...

Ok, just kidding, Diamondbacks in 6 games with a Davis and Owings loss is my guess. Yes, Livo with the win Cool
