Well, shoewizard, we'd better win tonight or you'll have the wrath of the Dbacks nation after you. If you're gonna take the thread, you better deliver the bread... Or something like that.
Man, this is exciting. I haven't been this thrilled since before the Mulder-Schilling matchup of the 2002 NLDS... (##### Cardinals).

i would not mind a extra left bat.....TC18 where have you gone?

My sister has betrayed our family... and converted to being a casual Cubs fan. (She married a great guy years ago who happens to be a dedicated Cubs fan, so guess it was inevitable) And my nephew is a very talented and cool young man who has the misfortune of being born and raised a Cubs fan.... BUT nothing would be better than breaking their hearts again... starting tonight.
Just Do it...Dbacks!!!!

Less than a thousand tickets left for tonights playoff opener between the Diamondbacks and Cubs at Chase Field.
"All those are standing room only tickets. They go for $15. Still a chance to get into the ballpark and see the action," says Shawn Rachau with the Diamondbacks.
"We'll probably announce later this morning that tonight is sold out, but there's still a chance if you call us in the morning, come down to the ticket window or just go to dbacks.com to buy your tickets."
He says there are less than 2,000 tickets left for Game 2 tomorrow night.
Ticket windows open at 9 a.m.
"The buzz around the city is overwhelming for us," says Rachau.
"The past couple of days, the phone calls, the congratulatory messages from people around town have been great. We had a rally event the other night and more than 5,000 showed up to root the team on so the buzz around town is great."

Biggest game in 5 years, and we all know how that series turned out...
Although our team lacks the superstar pedigree that Chicago has been able to purchase over the last couple years, I am confident in our ability to compete against anybody with Webb on the hill. Let's see Webby go out and pitch like Schilling did in Game 1, 2001. Set the tone. Get it done.

Wasn't it Chuck Finley who beat Schilling in game 2 of the 2002 NLDS?

This game is absolutely must win. The gap between Webb and our next best pitcher is huge, and we're playing at home. |

Make Zambrano work. Make Zambrano work. He has not shown command all year, can't get his power slider over for strikes. Now, at the same time he's kept the ball down in the zone for over a month, so if the team thinks they are homering off his 95 mph fastball, which he'll naturally come out with forget it. He changes the arm angle, that change of arm angle is a ball...gotta it, it's a ball, but because it generally comes he ups with 2 strikes guys chase, and don't see it. Byrnes don't try to pull him. Don't try to homer either. Walk you feckers walk. and Run.
Make him work, and run on Kendall at will. Its simple as that. I think we're winning this one, 8-3.

I get the thought of alternating lefties and righties in the lineup, but Salazar in the 6 spot ahead of Snyder????

Line-up should be
Drew-who is homering on breaking pitches, hitting fastballs for singles, and walking.
Byrnes-who is walking and stealing bases
Clark-who is walking or slging
Reynolds who is walking or slging
Young who is striking our or homering
Snyder-big hit Snyder
Ojeda-natty Ojeda after Snyder gets the big hit
Webb
Salazar- Here because we'll sending 8 guys to the plate each, the first 3 innings.

I wonder if this is a record for total number of regular season HR
(65) from the two leadoff spots in a playoff game?
