The Cubs have by far the biggest road following in Arizona. I'm very concerned that the Cubs will have 5 home games. You would hate to have a sellout crowd and have a majority of Cubs fans Confused

Won't happen... Cubs fans didn't "dominate" the regular season games as far as crowd noise, and historically Az. has supported its team in the playoffs.

There could be a bandwagon supernova at Chase on Wednesday - I hope everyone making their first journey of the year will be emptying their wallets. Also, I propose Cubs fans be forced to identify:

1. The infield fly rule
2. Three kinds of balks
3. How to make a double-switch

in order to gain entrance to the ballpark.

TAP has no sympathy for Cubbie fans... even though anyone can have a bad century. Cool

Among those happy over the Cubs coming to Phoenix is Mark Grace, the much-adored Cub who is now a D'back broadcaster. Grace had to go to Arizona to get a ring, playing for Cubs broadcaster Bob Brenly on their 2001 championship team, and Grace's loyalties are mixed.

"My dad always taught me to never bite the hand that feeds you," he said. "And right now I'm being fed by the Arizona Diamondbacks. You always want the team you work for to move on, but if they are going to lose, you certainly want it to be the team you have the history with.

"It's a tale of two very polar opposite teams. It should be a very entertaining playoffs; it's going to be rocking. I can't wait to get back to Chicago for it."

Peter Gammons predicting "ultimate" World Series w/ Red Sox beating the Cubs in six games (no surprise w/ his WS winner).

He thinks the Cubs are perfectly set up for the divisional series.

None of the ESPN guys tonight are even mentioning the Dbacks (so that's a good thing). Kruk has given the kiss of death to the MFYs.

I saw that too. But it is far better to come flying in under the radar than to have them all sit their and mouth off about your team now.

Where is the BUZZ? Your talking about it, Im talking about it but the general public is still very apathetic.

Ive heard more talk the past few days about the damn Steeler game with the Cruddy Cards.

Only 200? fans show up on saturday when the tickets went on sale?

Even with all the Cubs fans and it will be 50% will these two games even sell out?

Im stoked. I just dont think anyone else is.

I hope Im wrong.

"Arizona won the season series 4-2, which will help the Diamondbacks' confidence against the Cubs. But the NL's No. 1 seed is a paper tiger."

Oh I know that but still dont you think more than 200 would show up? You think they had more than 200 show up in Chicago, Philly, Hell I bet even the Rockies had more than that.

I dont know what the projection is until I talk to my guy tomorrow. I did hear the lower bowl is sold out for both games though. Lets see how many we get up top?

I just expect a little more Buzz.

Thursday's game will be at 7:30, so I'd expect a sell out or very close to one. I think it will be about 25-30% Cubs fans. Phoenix is a bandwagon town and the games are during the week.

As for Wednesday, I'd assume at least mid 40's for attendance (it'll probably be a 2pm start). On the Diamondbacks' website, the best set of four tickets are in Row 33 of Section 324, which indicates a near sell out already.

EDIT: Unless MLB is planning on a game at 10:30pm local time, the Diamondbacks are playing at 7:30 on Thursday. Cleveland and Philadelphia also host games that day.
