I'll take this one. I'm going to war with the Diamondbacks tonight. Biggest game of the year to this point, IMO.

LET'S WIN. Twisted Evil

Not the best turn through the rotation. Time to get some of those back.

We need to win this game so we can be sure that we continue to be David B's second favorite team.

Even if Arizona wins, it only does me marginial good if my first favorite team can't even beat the Giants. Sad

Yeah, I think they figure that since Davis pitched only a couple innings his last start with a relatively low pitch count that he would be good to go on 3 days rest.

Could running Davis a day early be an attempt to make sure Petit does not pitch against SD ?

Davis is going early simply because he can......only 54 pitches in 2 innings last time.

But they really WANT to give Livan and Webb the extra rest. They probably need it.

The Dbacks are stone cold offensively at the worst time: right as they are about to head out to SD for a 4 game series... and the Padres are smoking hot right now. Everyone is hitting... including Mad MoFo Milton Bradley, who's off the DL again and dealing. In terms of pure offensive firepower, the Padres have the Dbacks dominated, up and down the lineup. I have a really bad feeling that the Dbacks will leave SD at least a game or two back of the Padres. That's why these two games against the Cubs are absolutely crucial.

Unfortunately, I think Lilly will dominate the Dbacks today, and Marquis's bullshit arsenal will be enough to let the Cubs tweak out another win tomorrow. I've got a really bad feeling, kids. Really bad feeling. Right now, the Dbacks are sleep walking.

Davis has to be damn good tonight. I'm thinking at least 6 IP 1 R or 7 IP 2 R.

Mr. May also owes the team big tonight. His teammates picked him up for a couple of weeks, but they can't do it anymore.

And I think there's a lot more of them coming. I think next week in San Diego will be a bigger series than the current series
