Kim and Kennedy need to be gone after tonight's game. What horrible pickups by Josh.

It was worth the risk. It didn't work out, so now the Dbacks can move on.

Yeah worth a risk.
No need to get mad at JB who's been doing a good job here.
Kim will likely get a release. We might still keep Kennedy.

Actually, totally not worth it.

Blowing 2 million bucks on these 3 guys while going down to the wire with Jarrod Parker over 200K is the ultimate in mismanagement.

If they don't get Parker signed, this will officially be the worst month in D backs F.O. history since the Sexson trade.

Guys:

One game. This loss isn't any worse than the loss on Sunday at home.

Move on. Marlins were hot, tonight was their night. It happens.

I'm ok with the loss...it happens.

But I'm not OK with the GM fucking up so badly to the tune of sucking up 2 million bucks on guys that don't belong on the roster and are worse than the guys they replaced at league minimum. Not when we are struggling to get Parker signed, wasting money on Byrnes, and still no word of increased payroll for next year.

Definitely time to cut ties with BK now, Kennedy has a few more chances in my book. Getting Cirillo was just a screwup to begin with.

Like Levski said, its 1 loss. Not that big of a deal, I expected a 50/50 shot at a win tonight with BK out there anyway. Doesn't matter if you lose 2-1 or 14-3, it all still goes in the left hand column. And if this DBacks team has proved anything this year, its that we can lose big and bounce back.

Worse than the time they spent a kajillion dollars on Russ Ortiz? I think today's game is affecting judgement. They blew $2M that belonged to a couple of tools. So what. The more important thing is the fact that this team just got blown out right after losing a heart-breaker at home. They need to stop this tomorrow or it could get out of hand.

Kennedy sure seemed to be throwing across his front foot tonight. I have not seen him pitch much at all but it sure seemed pretty bad to me. Maybe that's the issue?

I would like to have another LHP in the 'pen.

If Kim's DFA'd, no questions asked.
But I would like to give Joe one more chance.

Joe Jr used to blow a hell of a lot more than $2M/yr on the sum collection of pitching rehab projects he used to sign over winters. Many did little more than tie up a BP spot in Tucson. Or show up for less than a week to put in a Bajenaru type appearance.

The FO panicked going into the trade deadline.

The upside is at least it blew up quickly, rather than further down the stretch.

For whatever it's worth... the major league budget (used for paying players on the 40 man roster) and the draft budget (used for paying draft picks) are two independent entities. What the Dbacks spent on waivers and/or EB's extension has no impact whatsoever on their negotiations with Parker. The Parker holdout would've most likely happened regardless of what the Dbacks had done on the waiver wire.

You'll need more than a couple of millions to buy a minority stake in the Dbacks...

Fair enough.....I accept that. My criticism is a bit off the mark in that regard.

You can get half of 1% for just $300,000 a year over 10 years in a Matt Williams payment plan type of deal Laughing

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Former Arizona third baseman Matt Williams announced Tuesday he is becoming a partner in the Diamondbacks and will invest $3 million in the club over the next 10 years.
Williams, who joined the expansion Diamondbacks in 1998, will own one-half of 1% of the team, paying $300,000 a year via a deferred investment that allows him to pay 10% each year. The commissioner's office approved Williams as a partner last week, a formality in the process.

It was worth the shot. Cut Kim, give Kennedy a few more days. Bring up a reliever today. The bullpen has turned from rested to overworked. The bullpen has been pretty bad lately. We need a fresh arm down there. Maybe keep Ojeda in reserve as a pitcher. Infielders are not suppose to come in and pitch that well.

It wasn't that Ojeda did so well. Rather, it was that the Marlins had gotten weary from all the hitting and base-running earlier in the game... Wink

But seriously: Nicely done, Augie! Very Happy
