Well then you sit on the third base side (which you have arranged), or watch it on T.V., or listen to it on the radio, or don't go.

Otherwise why make the roof retractable? Only for the natural grass?

Baseball should be played outside unless it's raining or the temp is above 105. And there's plenty of seats in that park besides that discrete first base area.

It's not just the heat. It's the BRIGHTNESS of the sun. It's not like other cities. The sun is not as bright in any other major league city during the day.
I think I remember in the first couple years where they closed one side of the roof to shield out some of the sun, but the roof was like half open. Anybody else remember that, or was I just drunk?

I remember them doing that. But I think that was only the first year.

For the record, it's not just the policy at the ballpark formerly known as BOB that's raising hackles in the Valley of the Sun...

Stadium roof issue frustrates fans

Among the more amusing comments:

Quote:
Much of the controversy is being fueled by the media, specifically Dan Bickley of The Arizona Republic.
Emphasis added.

Bickley is such a whiney, melodramatic ass.

At least he's bitching about the roof not being open. Sounds like an appeal to logic more than anything.
