Sometime games are like a box of chocolates, you never know which pieces have nuts.

EJ you might as well be talking to the wall. Melvin has proved he just can't understand this game.

Thanks, tmar. You're right, of course... But sometimes, it just helps to say it anyway...

Josh, Josh... Is there anybody out there?

Miggy did a great job tonight.

He went 8 complete and kept us in the game. We used 1 inning of bull pen.

O-Dawg, Tracy and Estrada were a combined 7-12.

But if you buy them at See's, they come with a decorator code on the top so you know what each piece is.

It could have been worse tonight. I mean the Padres and Giants both could have win. Oh yeah, they did.

We can keep deluding ourselves and say that we're still only four games out of first until there are only three games left to play if we so choose. The truth is...we are dead in the water. I've never seen a team that was only four games out have less of a chance to make the post season than this team.

Now is the time we need to start all our young players and let them make their mistakes-of-youth and get it them out of the way for next season. Let's see a line-up of:

Jackson,
Hudson,
Drew,
Tray,
Quentin,
Young,
Hairston and
Snyder

and let's get a running start on next season.

I went to tonights game. Even though we lost I had a great time. It was great to meet shoewizard, dylan, mcray, and his gf. Sorry I didn't get to see you, scott. Sorry I wasn't able to chat with you guys more, hopefully we'll have more time some other time.

I didn't get to see much of the game but our baby was a real trooper tonight. She made it through 8 innings and was great the whole time. She really liked the Tracy bobblehead doll. Tracy had his diaper changed a few times and also nursed from our baby a couple of times.

I ran into my old boss from back when I used to deliver pizza, we got caught up and he bought be a beer. It would have been nice to be able to pay attention to the game more but since we lost it made it a lot easier to enjoy the game without thinking much about what was going on.

I knew we'd lose from the first time I saw the lineup. Poor Miggy, he pitched well (aside from the 4 walks) and gave the team exactly what they needed.

Did Shoewizard look anything like the avatar he uses on this forum?

I just got home from the game too. We were entertaining some high-profile Southern Cal friends in shoewizard's 1st base seats and again had a great time in spite of the WTF? lineup.

The first thing my wife asked when we got there was, "Why isn't Quentin playing?" What could I say? I told her that Byrnes had a positive history against Lowe, Gonzo cannot be sat down even for a night since his July 20 hissyfit, and therefore there is room for only one rookie in the OF, and it ain't Q tonight. Shame. Good thing we sat Drew out tonight too so Counsell could go 0 for 3. And it was also a real pick-us-up to see Clark raise his season BA to .186 by going 1 for 4 instead of playing Jackson.

Hudson is just plain kicking ass against LA!

Nice to see the 40,000+ crowd and AZ had a chance to win right up to the end until, as noted earlier in this thread, Melvin brainfarted and put Luis "Walk em full" Vizcaino in again tonight to give up the losing HR to Kent.

See you all there again tomorrow for the rubber game. Hopefully they'll use better protection than Luis "lube up the bats" Vizcaino.

Tracy hit a come backer that hit him on his glove hand wrist I think. It was hard to tell exactly where it hit him but he's outa here!!!

I saw Lowe go down as if hit by a bolt of lightning, but didn't realize just how seriously he was hurt. We thought his left hand was hurt, but Tracy's hit apparently took Lowe's right arm clean off! Surprised
