The reason I write this is to give everybody a peice of mined. He is here to do what he can to help the team.
D-Backs have given Doug a phyiscal and an MRI on his shoulder. The Doctor has given him a clean bill of health. For those who welcome me aboard, thank you GO-D-BACKS

Following our discussion on JUpton, I'd like to let you all know that I checked out shoewiz's head... and everything came out empty Smile

[EDIT] back to the topic at hand... I certainly am hoping that Doug Davis has three excellent years in AZ uniform. here's hoping he gets a world series ring in the desert as well. you can never have too many of those...

This reminds me of the old Dizzy Dean story when he broke up a dp in the world series against the Tigers by sticking his head in the way of the ball. Headlines read:

DEAN HIT IN HEAD

X-Rays show nothing

It didn't work because you had linked to the web page, and not to the image itself. When the link was changed to reference the picture directly, it worked.

I took the liberty of fixing it, using the amazing powers granted unto me, unworthy as I am, to serve as a moderator. I hope that's OK with you...

Much appreciated. How do you get the reference to the image? Thanks.

Dizzy had that nickname long before the WS. Don't know how he got it originally, but he was always a character. Paul's (his brother) nickname was Daffy.

Just a word of caution Daddy D. As you know baseball is an emotional sport and we are all very passionate about our team. If/when you hear something you don't like, it's likely a heat of the moment thing or just a difference of opinion.

I look forward to your insights and I'm anxious to see DD revert to his pre-2006 form.

At the site where the original is posted, right-click on the photo. Then, select either "View Image" or "Properties." The first will take you to a browser screen that has the URL for the picture in the address bar. The second will open a box that will include the URL. Copy either one, and paste it into your message between the image tags [ img ]<URL>[ /img ] (without the spaces, of course).

These are the steps to take (and options) when using Mozilla's FireFox browser. Others, such as MS Internet Exploder, will have a similar procedure to use to obtain the same results.

DBBP protocol suggests hosting the image at a website designed for the purpose of hosting and sharing images. ImageShack is one such site; there are others. You can resize the image, so that it doesn't require a large amount of bandwidth. This is a "user-friendly" step to take for those poor benighted souls who are still using a dial-up connection to access the internet...

So you guys don't think that Doug Davis could be a stunt double for Orlando Bloom in the next Pirates of the Caribbean?

Heck, even Baseball Prospectus remarked in their 2006 book that Davis has a veritable pirate facial hair going (and I don't mean the Pitt Pirates here).

I'm personally looking forward to several very good seasons by Doug here in the desert. Just keep the ball down... and whatever you do, make sure you get more grounders going to Hudson and not Tracy...

Just bustin' yer choppers, Chad... Laughing

Don't worry I'm his biggest critic. I've already gone through 1 TV, and for the facel hair, too each his own.[/url]

I usually reserve breaking TV's for bad umpiring, so it wont surprise anyone that I've broken 6 TV's in the last two years. It's really gotten bad as of late.

I'm courious about a couple of things. How does Doug feel about pitching with Brandon? And secondly, How did he react to the D Backs signing Randy?

And to answer the unspoken question, yes I'n nosey as hell. Smile

I haven't seen a post from her in a while, but whozurmomma (or something like that) was a parent of minor league pitcher AJ Shappi.

Doug is looking forward to playing this year. I know that he started to get in shape earlier than normal. As for Randy I think that RJ would be pissed off. Due to the fact that his chance to hit a home again went down 99%.
