The effects of starting a gameday thread for me linger on forever...

DBacks better come alive and make a stand NOW. Mad

You can try returning to the original message. If you see a box with an "X" in the upper right hand corner, you can click on that to delete your post.

I kinow a moderator could also delete the post -- but that might involve messing with the space-time-gameday-thread-continuum with potentially catastrophic results... Twisted Evil

Oh, and happy birthday, Driaz!

But...if you delee your post (that happens to start the thread), how do we know that the entire thread does not then enter oblivion?

Sounds like something that will need exploration/experimentation... under site stuff.

Taking back a game day thread is jut bad mojo. Don't even think about it. The D-backs can't use bad mojo right now.

Tried experiment in the Site forums, and there's no way for mere mortals to delete a post that starts a thread anywho.

The Gnats will start LHP Noah Lowry, who is 5-7 this season (24-20 overall). His ERA this season is 4.21 (career: 3.85) in 20 games; with a 1.41 WHIP (1.32 career). He's pitched 119.2 innings, giving up 125 hits (15 HR), 44 BB (1 intentional), and 56 ER. He has 61 Ks this season. His GO/AO numbers are 120/172 this season (.077). (More knowledgeable folks here will be able to tell us whether this is to our advantage or detriment in PacBell Park...) His SLGA is .477; while his OBA is .343. Lefties have been hitting .341 against him, while righties, only .262. His daytime ERA is 5.54, while at night, only 3.61; and he's slightly better at home (4.01) than on the road (4.53).

In his last 10 games, he's gone 3-2; with 1 loss and 4 no-decisions in his last 5 starts. His most recent win was July 20th (vs. SD). He hasn't pitched against the Diamondbacks this season. UPDATE: Lowry is 4-1 with a 2.95 ERA in seven career appearances against the Diamondbacks, and has won three in a row against them. He has recorded more wins against Arizona than against any other opponent he has faced.
----------------------------------------------------

We should definitely have a chance against Lowry, IF the offense shows up... Being a LHP, I'd hope to see Q in RF; but given the advantage that lefties have in hitting against him, I wouldn't be surprised to find Green in the lineup, bumping either Q or CoJack... Sad

Thank you for the birthday greeting, but I have to agree with the others. It would be major bad mojo to delete a gameday thread. (unlesss it is one that Hank started)

Have fun at the games, and go D-Backs!!!!

1. Livan better come up huge tonight - the team is not far from being buried in the playoff chase.

2. If Young wasn't sent down today, he's officially being CoJacked by the FO.

I'm guessing Callaspo is gone back to Tucson.

Callaspo and Young are both still listed on the active roster at the official Diamondbacks website.

No report of any player movements today for the Diamondbacks is found under the "Transactions" report at the MLB.com website.

Of course, updates to either site are probably not done on a terribly timely basis...

Have I missed something??? Has there been a roster move that has prompted speculation on who has been sent down?

The assumption is that Counsell's being activated today. Sad

The speculation is triggered by a report that Counsell will be activated today. Doing so will require removing someone from the active roster; hence, the ponderings here.

I'm going to guess that the team busts Hairston down to Missoula.

Thanks for the info EvilJuan and Robert!

If Counsell is indeed activated, I would have to agree with Oden, that Callapso is being sent back to Tucson.

If Counsell is being activated today, why Easley in the lineup???? Confused

I personally don't have a problem with Counsell coming back, but he should be super utility guy getting playing time at 3rd, ss, and 2nd. Maybe Easley is playing today because he's going to be DFA'd tomorrow?

I'd be tempted to stick Counsell at third, actually. I'd do it for Webb's starts, for sure.

Can't imagine why Melvin would start Easley instead of Drew. Is Drew hurt?
