We've been doing this Up or Down thread for all the players, But I don't think that really applies to Chris Young, since last year shouldn't really count. Same thing with Montero, and to a lesser extent Carlos Quentin.

So how are we going to evaluate these guys going into the season?

Edit: My whole reason behind this post is that if we have a poll asking if they're going to play better or worse than last year, 90 percent of the people are going to say Up. That really doesn't provide a good perspective on these guys.

Use the MLE's (Major league equivalents) from minor league splits.com

The point of up or down is trend, or if they are going to get better.

For example, Chris Young's MLE OPS last year was .737

So does he get better or worse than .737?

I think both could work. I think young will easily beat a .737 OPS
