The Dodgers’ wild day has continued into the morning, as they’ve agreed to trade star outfielder Matt Kemp to the Padres, Dennis Lin and Kirk Kenney of the San Diego Union-Tribune report. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported earlier tonight that a deal was close.

The deal will send Kemp and catcher Tim Federowicz to San Diego, with the Dodgers receiving catcher Yasmani Grandal, righty Joe Wieland, and a third player, likely pitching prospect Zach Eflin. The Dodgers will also include around $30MM to help cover the $107MM remaining on Kemp’s contract, which runs through 2019.

Bleacher Report's Will Carroll hears that "rumors....are starting to get louder" about a possible failed physical by OF Matt Kemp.

Looks like arthritic hips. Can't imagine if I were in a position of influence in the Pads organization that I would take on such a trade for someone who already has an injuries galore, 2 arthritic hips, who will getting paid as much as he does (and will), and give up the players in the deal.

I'd imagine arthritic hips would take away a lot of Kemp's game - speed, power, range, etc. Probably explains the drop-off. Really sucks for him. He was one of the game's top players. I'd love it if his huge contract had to be hung on the Dodgers, though.

First minor crack in the Dodgers 2015 wall

Kenley Jensen out 8-12 weeks with foot surgery

Had an arch problem last year, and surgery now, so no sure thing to come back on time and be effective.

They'll probably just trade for Kimbrel and use Jensen as the setup guy when he gets back. Sigh...

Mattingly, Hale smooth things over

Little bit old, but hopefully this means that the benches won't clear any time someone accidentally gets hit by a pitch now

Adrian Gonzalez went 0-5 with 7 men LOB. The Dodgers still beat Colorado 7-0 to move to 9-3

Dodgers place Carl Crawford on the 15 day DL

Poor boy has a strained right oblique. He's batting .245 at present.

Dodgers are getting Mat Latos and Mike Morse from the Marlins, as reported by @GDubCub.
