Dodgers make a nice series of errors with totally unnecessary throws.

Mark Saxon | ESPNLosAngeles.com wrote:
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielders Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig got into a verbal altercation in the dugout during an 11-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday night at Coors Field, a disagreement caught by the Rockies' TV cameras.

Kemp, who had struck out earlier in the sixth inning, was seen pursuing Puig the length of the dugout and yelling in his direction before manager Don Mattingly stepped between them and Kemp turned and walked up the tunnel toward the clubhouse.

Puig had walked during the inning, in which the Dodgers scored eight runs.

Kemp and Mattingly wouldn't reveal the topic of the disagreement, but it's possible Kemp was upset that Puig, one of the Dodgers' fastest runners, didn't take third base on Adrian Gonzalez's single to right field just before Kemp batted.

Mattingly made it sound as if it wasn't the first time tempers have flared among Dodgers teammates this season.

Several sources have described the clubhouse atmosphere as "dysfunctional."

Among others, yes; as well as some memorable Yankee teams, and some of the "Gas House Gang" teams of the St. Louis Cardinals.

I heard about a baseball themed grindcore band called "Puig Destroyer". They have a couple EPs out on bandcamp and a "full length" album (about 20 minutes) coming out soon. One of the songs is "Trumbomb"

http://noisey.vice.com/blog/puig-destoy ... g-premiere

Quote:
The bass player in Puig Destroyer, Ian Miller, plays in a band called Kowloon Walled City. He and I have been running a baseball and music-centric blog, Twitter feed and podcast [Productive Outs] for the last three years or so. Last season, Yasiel Puig made his major league debut for the Dodgers and got off to this crazy hot start: everyone was talking about him and he was a great player on the field but one of the drawbacks was that he was a completely batshit crazy, out of control, just super aggressive player and it kind of rubbed some people the wrong way.

Anyway, on a podcast last season when he got called up to the majors, Ian and I were talking and because we're both fans of Pig Destroyer I was like, "Someone should start a baseball-themed metal band called 'Puig Destroyer.'" After we finished recording, Ian mentioned, kind of joking, "Hey, we should do that." Later that night, I sent him programmed drums for what ended up being our first song; eight or nine days later we had our first EP up on Bandcamp; and two weeks after that Yasiel Puig actually heard one of the songs at the MLB Fan Cave in New York.

Ian Miller wrote a few guest articles for Baseball Prospectus a couple years ago. He also went on their now-deceased Up & In podcast and was lovingly called "Ian the Vegan." I really fucking miss that podcast.

So glad we could play a part.

How an unbelievably awful 2/3 of an inning shaped Clayton Kershaw’s brilliant season

It's really cool to have a guy like Kershaw pitching right now, but I'd like him more if he pitched in the AL.

I think Friedman, in all his years in Tampa Bay, has come to realize that money doesn't matter if you don't have the right players.
For all the cash that has been spent on Little Boys Blue, they still are nowhere in October.
It's the joke of the year in my book.
* * * * *
There was a ton of talk about a freeway WS this year between the Dodgers and the Angels, and neither survived their division series.

Speculation is that Mattingly might be on a short leash and that Joe Madden might be in the on deck circle for 2016.

What's sad is the Dbacks wasted the last few years of their window to compete pursuing the DHall gritty marketing strategy just to boost tv ratings.

Byrnes is the front runner for their GM job. That'll make a pretty formidable front office.

Josh Byrnes, the former general manager of the Diamondbacks and Padres, is seen as a leading candidate for the top executive job under new club president Andrew Friedman with the Dodgers, league sources said.

Byrnes is viewed as a strong possibility to get the coveted job, as sources familiar with the situation say his experience is viewed as a plus for a storied, big-market team with heavy media coverage and add that his philosophy aligns with that of Friedman. The pair are also said to be fairly close, though a prior relationship had been less than obvious.

Then there is another ray of hope.

That Dodgers front office is going to clean our clock.
