Dodgers are working on iwakuma

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal
Sources: #Dodgers in talks to acquire Aroldis Chapman from #Reds for prospects.

After what has transpired with Greinke, I could easily see AZ trying to work a deal for Chapman to keep him away from LA.

I think that would shorten our games to 7 innings. I would be for it. Without Greinke, Chapman is not worth it. With Greinke, Chapman is win now...

Be willing to pay a higher price just to keep him out of LA

Could this be the hold up on the trade?

Kenley Jansen becomes the all-time Dodger save leader with 162, saving tonight's 4-1 win for Kershaw. Kershaw struck out Harper all three time he faced him

Kershaw's historical season might be coming to an end.

Epidural for back disc problem.

yeah he is out at least a month if he doesn't need surgery, and of course if he needs surgery, it's done.

Not good news for Kershaw with the setback.

For those who would like just the tiniest little bit more information... Dodgers acknowledge Clayton Kershaw's season could be over ;)

Here's some good news from the article cited above:

Quote:
They also learned Wednesday that left-hander Alex Wood will require surgery on his ailing left elbow that will cost him two months.

In the 24 hours before that, left-handed starter Hyun-Jin Ryu, and relievers Chris Hatcher and Casey Fien were also placed on the disabled list. Their depth is being severely tested, which could force their hand on a potential trade for pitching, especially in the rotation.

They might be familiar with this guy named Greinke. ;) They got anybody we might want in return?

Quote:
In the meantime, they will roll with five question marks in Kenta Maeda, who’s in his first MLB season, rookie Julio Urias, hit-or-miss veterans Scott Kazmir and Bud Norris, and Brandon McCarthy, who’s coming off Tommy John surgery. For the short-term, that rotation should suffice. If longer-term issues force the Dodgers to rely on them entirely, they will likely struggle to reach the postseason.

Music to my ears... 8-)

Honestly the injury to Kershaw is a shame.

He was having an historic season. The K BB ratio was set to DOUBLE the previous record.

Thats like a Quarterback throwing for 9000 yards, or a hitter smashing 140 homers.

He's the best pitcher in the game and when not facing d backs I like to watch him pitch.

I hope the Dodgers lose 100 games, but not because Kershaw is injured

Well said; and I wouldn't change a word. Greatness is so rare, and it's amazing to watch - even if it's on behalf of a team you'd just as soon see stumble and fall apart behind him. I'm not at all celebrating his being injured; but I'm not at all sorry that it's the Dodgers taking it in the shorts.
