They better start winning some more games.

5-7 in their last 12 since the win streak ended.

Team ERA 4.11 , allowing 4.2 R/G in this stretch

Meanwhile offense has gone silent. Over the 12 game stretch batting .247/.312/.410 .721 OPS and 4.0 R/G, and worse over the last 10 games

Last 10 .231/.293/.391 .684 OPS and 3.5 R/G

And last 5 games, .182/.246/.312 .557 OPS 2.2 R/G

On the whole, Simply being outplayed, out hit, out pitched since the streak ended. Especially San Diego, losing 4 of last 5 to them.

They have a bunch of hungry kids trying to prove they belong in the majors. They are .500 team for last 4 months. Next year or the year after could be the opening of THEIR window.

Meanwhile, road hitting woes continue for this team, consistent with the entire season. Too dependent on the homerun, among the worst in the league at converting scoring chances such as runner on 3rd less than 2 outs, or runner on second, no outs. If they can't improve their efficiency in these areas it's going to be a short post season, even if they hold on to make the wild card game and win the game, and make it to division series.

They aren't going to be able to blast their way through the playoffs. Pitching is too good.

After 3 innings in SF, the Giants lead the Rockies 3-0. I'm not sure what our magic number is for the WC game (being at home). Milwaukee only a game behind Colorado, too.

Magic Number for Home Field against Milwaukee should be 5.

The formula says 6, but D Backs own the tie breaker, since they won season series vs. Milwaukee 4-3

Milwaukee has 11 games left. If they won all 11 they would be 92-70.

D Backs have 10 games left. If they win 5, the would be 92-70 as well.

BUT, Colorado has 11 games left and if they win them all they would finish 93-69.

So.....if D Backs just take care of business and win at least 5 more games, they are guaranteed the home field advantage in the Wild Card unless Colorado wins all their remaining games.

Thanks, Shoe. So Rockies lost to SF today. They could be tied with the Brewers tonight.
