I propose a scoring change for next year.....

gotta take away half a point for a loss, otherwise just starting threads a lot more than anyone else makes you the probably winner

I agree with this. And my tongue in cheek post a month ago was a semi real thing too. It is actually why I have been posting gdts in spurts...I just feel like its not fair somehow? (not that there is anything other than "Yay!" to win)

I proposed the current system because it was too hard to get a thread started on days like today where the chance of winning was about as likely
as a blizzard hitting downtown Phoenix this afternoon.
*
Not long ago, I think there were guys who would set their alarm clocks for 7AM so they could beat someone else to start the thread for the day.
Then the last couple years, it was hard to get a game thread started by the first pitch some days, more often than not if I remember correctly.
*
Looking at the chart, if we were to take off a half point for every loss you would have:
(difference in parentheses)
Justin 30 points (-6)
TAP 24.5 (-4.5)
Dbacksheelpanths 21 (-3)
MisterX 18.5 (-2.5)
John 9 (-1)
Shoe 9 (-1)
same order in the standings, and curiously, the more threads you start, the more points you lose
I would suggest if the current system is not satisfactory, go back to the old one
whatever works, that's my motto
*
If you go by percentage straight up, you got three guys at 1-0 with a PCT of 1.000 and you can't do better than that. So it seems to me
there would have to be a minimum number of threads started to qualify for the title just as there is a minimum total of PA required to
qualify for a batting title.

Sign of a successful season: of the 12 people that have started gameday threads, all are .500 or better!
