Even in an off game by his standards, watching Arrieta is really impressive.

Zobrist: 0-2. swing and a miss on the backfoot slider 1 out
Bryant: 2-0. outside and low. called strike and foul 2-2. foul tip held. 2 out
Soler: pop short left, serious hang time, Owings waves everybody off and takes it.
Gotta give Tomas credit for not playing hot dog and trying to take it away from him.
after 3
2-1 AZ

With the booth talking about making room for Peralta
I'd say, Ahmed to Reno, Segura to SS, Drury to 2B, leave the OF as is?
Drury will still get the occasional game in the OF and Owings will still get the occasional game in the infield too.

Herrmann: foul, strike 2 called. strikes out on three pitches 9 Ks
Owings: high outside called strike 1. high 1-1. ripped into left for a single. Owings 2-2. Make him the #2 in the order if he keeps this up.
Tomas: high strike center cut taken 0-1. blow by on the high inside 0-2. outside and didn't come back to the outside corner. Tomas got lucky on that one. three throws to first.
another one. low 2-2 and Owings steals second without a throw. huge jump.
swing and a miss on a dipsy doodle breaker. 10Ks
Uncle Charley is in the house
Drury: low and away 1-0. high heat up and out of the zone, swing and a miss on the high sucker ball. inside runner swing and miss badly. almost hit him was that far inside.
in the dirt Miggy blocks. strike 3 called on the comebacker on the outside corner
82 pitches. 11 strikeouts. 52 strikes 30 balls.

Baez: grounds to Lamb's left 1 out
Shields to the White Sox, which is understandable after the team CEO In San Diego laid into him
Russell: fouls two aiming for right. strike 3 called on one clearly outside. Russell has a bitch.
Szczur:comebacker to Corbin 1-2-3 inning
51 pitches, 33 strikes 18 balls. 63.4% ratio for Jake, 64.7% for Pat.
after 4
2-1 AZ

Ahmed is the poster boy for Tony LaHooHa's incompetence. He is so SURE Ahmed will become a big time hitter. With another team maybe?
They'd be embarassed to send him down

Corbin. fouls to stay 1-2. missed his spot so he didn't get the low inside call. then drops a dunker into left for a single and the Dbacks 5th hit.
Bourn: WTF??!! shows bunt and CORBIN is thrown out stealing. That had to be a botched bunt and run. One way to get him back in the dugout quickly. foul 0-2. A good ad for the DH in the NL. slow roller to Zobrist, charging at second, but no chance. Bourn can still run. declined to barehand it, but it didn't matter. single
Gosselin: high and in 1-0. fat puppy ripped right of the keystone for a single. Corbin's caught stealing really hurts at this point.
Goldy: first and second 1 out. high and away. outside 1-1. Cahill is warming. Bosio comes out. Will never forget the night in Seattle when Bosio threw his no hitter.
speaking of which, Estrada has Boston no hit through 7 at 98 pitches

Goldy stands 2-0. inside runner ripped foul left. Try to pull those they go foul every time it seems. low 3-1. 97 pitches. swing and a miss blow by at 95MPH right down Main St.
center cut, low, bashed into left for a single and RBI. 98 pitches, 4 straight singles.
Lamb: 99 pitches not 98. Foul right on pitch 100. in the dirt on a change, swing and miss.
swing and a miss way down low. no idea what's wrong here.
Herrmann: swing and a miss low and away 0-1. 103 pitches. low and away 1-1. Arrieta due up second in the last half. outside corner high, swing and miss 1-2. low 2-2
low 3-2. another 3-2 count. slow roller to first, Arrieta doesn't cover, but a runner is caught trying to score. OVER FUCKING AGGRESSIVE. DAMN, NO F ING WONDER THIS
TEAM SUCKS. WHOSE IDEA WAS THAT???? That's NOT how pros play. That's how
INEPT HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS PLAY!!!
so 1 run given to the Cubs on Bourn's drop, another run lost on Corbin's Fing out at second, and another chance for more runs on Arrieta's no cover goes down the toi toi.
3-1 Dbacks at half way.
Arrieta probably done, leaving down 3-1 after 11 strikeout. HOW STRANGE THIS GAME OF BASEBALL CAN BE.
5 hits, 1 run - THAT SUCKS!!

Montero leads off the 5th.
57 pitches and Miggy stands 1-2. fat puppy smashed into center for a single.
Arrieta will bunt for himself
swing and a miss down low 0-1.
now lays it down nicely right side, Corbin looked like he had a play at second
but went to first. sac works
Fowler: Bosio's no hitter was against Boston. outside 1-1. Last no hitter pitched at Fenway was by Jim Bunning (Detroit) in the 50s. low 2-1. grounds to Lamb. Miggy holds
Zobrist: Dbacks 10 balls in play. 9 hits. Bounced to Lamb
3-1 AZ after 5
Arrieta has the craziest line ever.

I am watching on MLB-TV and the Cubcasters just said how stupid the whole thing was. Don't know if this was Williams' idea or something Hale wants to do.
But whoever thought it was the right thing to do AT THIS LEVEL is a @&$(@^$*@^$+ Chowderhead!!! IMHO.

Goldy wasn't paying attention and headed for third. And you can't have two guys standing on third.....

Cahill now pitching. Corbin wins his 5 inning duel with Jake.
Owings: strike 1 high inside, fouled outside 0-2. swing and a miss low slider 1 out
Tomas: check swing, weak, strike 1, at a pitch that bounces off the plate. inside another weak swing and a miss. little 25 footer riding the third base line, Miggy on it and throws him out. 2 out
Drury takes strike 1, fouls to go 1-2. in the dirt 2-2. ball 3 and Cahill is all over the map.
low and away ball 4. Looked like OLD CAHILL on that sequence.
Corbin up: Oh, no wonder. semi intentional to bring up Corbin.
swing and a miss on a change. Going to last of 6, AZ leading 3-1.
