It is nice when almost every ground ball the Dbacks are hitting ends up finding a hole

Ahmed
shot past Carpenter down the line
hustles it into a double. Moss apparently doesn't have a good arm as throw was late
Segura
bunts foul strike 1
flies to Moss in left, Ahmed holds second
Bourn
check swing roller
gets past Garcia, Wong charges throws high and pulls Adams off the bag - single
Goldy
first and third, 1 out, again. DP last time
sharp single to left 4-0 AZ
RBI and runners on first and second 1 out
Lilliquist out again and Garcia not long for this one if he can't get this under control quick
Bowman warming now
Beef
Jaime is just not Jaime today
slow roller right side, Wong a long way to go, gets it, throws him out
runners move up, 2nd and 3rd 2 out
Tomas
single and RBI in the 1st
grounds to Carpenter
going to last of 2, 4-0 AZ

nice, compact, controlled swings, good contact, drive the ball
looks like a bunch of serious baseball hitters

get guys on, get guys in, make crooked numbers,

Yadi
protecting the low zone fouling them off - see if ZG highballs him
line drive to Goldy's right, lays it out and makes a great flying catch.
Moss
high fly right. Bourn keeps the feet moving, plays the sun, comes in, backs up, makes the catch.
Grichuk
high pop behind first, Goldy battling the sun, and makes the catch
4-0 AZ after 2

No need to try for 2nd there. Hate gifting teams outs.
Hopefully ZG will bring the runner at 3rd home and pad our lead.

Drury
Garcia 44 pitches going in
BB saying the shift doesn't do much good if the pitcher can't hit his spots - like Garcia today
hot shot off Diaz glove into left center
single - third consecutive inning, leadoff man aboard
Owings
shot into right, single,
Drury to third, Owings thrown out at second when Carpenter cuts off the throw to third and has him by plenty. When the throw from right was not cut off, Owings thought he could reach second, and when Carpenter saw that, and realized he had no chance to get Drury, ran up and cut the ball off himself and got Owings. Over-agressive baserunning especially with the big lead.
Garcia's day is OVAH!

Greinke sac fly, helps himself with RBI, knocks out his opposing pitcher, and gets tacos.
This is productive
Ahmed grounds to Diaz
going to last of 3
5-0 AZ

Wong
smash to the National Car Rental sign in right center
double on the first pitch. Does not gamble on third, so far behind
*
Bowman the pitcher. Garcia never got a chance to hit
pops the first bunt attempt foul, bunts hard right foul
tried to bunt right side, which would be right to Goldy for an easy chance at third
lays it down left side, perfectly, out at first, Wong to third
*
Carpenter
strikes out swinging. 26 strikes 5 balls for ZG. Having a day
*
Diaz
works a walk, first and third 2 out
*
Piscotty
deep center, fading right, Owings has it on the track in front of the Bank of America sign
after 3
5-0 AZ

the trend continues
winning on the road
losing at home
Padres come to Chase on Friday - Dbacks must win next weekend's series
Don't know how we'll do in Pittsburgh, but the way this team is playing on the road, the series should be interesting

fly to right, 1 out
Shut up, Walsh, there's a game on
Segura
*
Bourn up
No Bert, the Edsel came much later
hot shot to Carpenter, spinnerama, and out at first, 2 out
*
Goldy
walks on four pitches
*
Beef
little dribbler right side, Bowman picks it up and tags Castillo
going to last of 4, 5-0 AZ

Big City
high fast ball strikes him out swinging
*
Yadi
big breaker swing and a miss 2 out
*
Moss
long drive right over the State Farm sign
5-1
I don't know what kind of pitch that was but it had only one place to go
missed the target and put it right on the tee
*
Grichuk
hot shot to Drury
5-1 AZ after 4
*
Greinke at 44 strikes and 14 balls = 58 pitches in 4 innings for ZG 14.5 per inning
which explains why it is so hard to throw a complete game
best way to throw a complete game? throw a perfect game
Don Larsen, in his 56 WS perfecto, threw 97 pitches

*
Drury

*

grounds to Segura 1 out
*
Bowman
strikes out swinging, 2 out
*
Carpenter
shot to right center, single
*
Diaz
popped up on the third base line about 15 feet in front of the bag
Drury wins the sun battle and ends the inning
after 5, 5-1 AZ

BB saying the Mendoza Line, named for Mario Mendoza, is actually .215 and not .200
Greinke
single to right
*
Ahmed
single, right center, Greinke to second
*
Segura
grounder to Carpenter
touches third for one, goes to Adams with an off-balance throw and Adams couldn't dig it out. Segura at first, Ahmed to third
*
Bourn
Carpenter got an error on that play
single to right for a three hit day
Ahmed scores, Segura to third
6-1 AZ
*
Goldy
Brox in the pen
slow bouncer to Carpenter, out at second, Segura scores
7-1 AZ
*
Beef
slow roller to short
7-1 AZ going to last of 6

Piscotty
deep right center, Owings has it, 1 out
Greinke 51 strikes 19 balls going in
*
Big City
your handwriting isn't the only thing that's whack about you, Walsh! HA HA
This would be a great broadcast if we could only eliminate Walsh
strike out swinging, out at first
2 out
*
Yadi, big bouncer over the middle, Ahmed does his thing and ends the inning
7-1 AZ after 6

Pretty easy to gather nuts when Garcia and Bowman are making them fall like rain in a rain forest.
Ahmed does seem to be hitting a little better, but we will have to wait to see if this is real or just a passing thing

We've seen it from him before, he will have a couple nice streaks of games and then he'll go back to being futile at the plate.
He wasn't a good hitter in the minors, he never projected as a good hitter. I'm just going to assume he is what he is.
