Three outs away from the first series win in St.Louis since 2003
wondering if Tuesday and/or Wednesday is rained out in Pittsburgh, if we will play 2 on Thursday.
Z will pitch the 9th
Big City leads off
7-1 lead and Z goes 3-0
and a walk on four pitches
*
"Don't worry, kid, I got this" - Z to Ahmed
*
Kiekhefer
ball 1 and Beef comes out
swinging bunt right side, Z waits for it, shovels to first for out 1
not a sac
*
Moss
comebacker to Z
looks Adams back, and throws to first, 2 out
*
Grichuk
last Card left on the perch
11 pitches 3 strikes
singles left center, hustles it into a double
Adams scores
7-2
*
Wong
3-2
swing and a miss
DBACKS WIN 7-2
Pittsburgh on Tuesday, 4PM MST/PDT
2:44 time of game, always great to be under three hours

Have you ever heard of a stat I call ZRA: Zero runs allowed. Number of appearances where the relief pitcher did not allow a run/total appearances? I can't seem to come up with a percentage that would be acceptable. Seems like a meaningful stat, tho.
* * * * *
This doesn't appear to be one of the strong Cardinals teams we are used to seeing. Jaime Garcia blew up on the launching pad and was doomed from the start because he was all over the place from the first pitch. Added to that, Greinke is starting to look like Big Money finally.
* * * * *
I am wondering, though, if the offense is approaching road parks the same way it is approaching Chase Field. Seems like this series the guys were making good contact swings, getting hits, cashing in on rallies and all kinds of good things. I have to wonder if part of our home woes are due to their trying to hit the ball out of the place all the time. Not sure, but Friday we play Sandy Eggo which should be an easy home series win. The Giants have been hot and maybe our team is ready to go for a run and challenge them.
* * * * *
The thing we are most likely to get in Pittsburgh is rain, as Bert was detailing the coming week forecast today.
* * * * *
Bert and BB were MUCH BETTER today than the Cardscasters on Friday. At least they are cutting down on the BS and giving us more baseball. It's SO irritating when a pinch hitter comes up and a broadcaster is so busy BSing he doesn't bother to tell us who it is.

I can generate a report that shows who had the most scoreless relief outings in the season, but then you have to manually click on the player and see how many games he pitched to get the percentage.
