I am thinking of getting rid of Directv and that would mean I won't be able to get FoxSportsAZ. I live in Marana, AZ and was wondering if I buy the MLB package for the computer, will I be able to watch the Diamondbacks or will it be blacked out?

Pretty sure it would be blacked out. That has been a complaint of mine for years and years now.

Did remember seeing this article a while ago, but didn't hear anything more.
So maybe things are finally changing.

IIRC, we are blacked out of San Diego Padres games AND Dbacks....

FWIW, I am going to buy the package too. I just have antenna tv, and watch netflix and stuff.

I use MLB.tv and get blacked out, but I also use the Chrome Extension of ZenMate, it gives you a European IP address to get around blackouts. Very simple to use.

How do you do that?

I'm pretty sure you still need a RSN subscription in order to get local teams on MLB.tv. It's dumb, I know.

How do you do that?

Install ZenMate for Chrome, click the shield in the top corner, select the country you want your computer to be recognized as, and then load into MLB.tv

You could get someone in another market to sign up and then swap ID's. For example, you could sign up for yourself in AZ and your friend in Boston could sign up. Then you could log on with his ID (Red Sox games would be blacked out) to see Diamondbacks games and he could log on with your ID to see Red Sox games. Be sure to use a generic password, so your friend doesn't know you still dig sanJaya4ever_!! .

I signed up for mlb.tv from china. When I went back to Arizona, could not use it.

It goes by where your ip is showing from, not your log in. Thats why you have to use something that routes you elsewhere and shows an out of stat ip

That must have changed in the last couple of years. A co-worker (MFD fan) used his Cali friend's logon and we were able to view all D-backs games from work in AZ. I understood that his Cali friend used the AZ guy's logon to view Dodgers games. That was maybe 4 years ago. I could have misunderstood, though.

Yeah its location-based. Nothing to do with your login. When I travel to LA for work I can't get Dodgers or Angels, for example.

So if I have a friend in LA sign up for Diamondback games, I still won't be able to watch them on my computer in Arizona?

Correct.

MLB.tv changes where you are logged in at. If I travel to New York, I'm blacked out to their regions games, if I then go to Florida, I'd be blacked out to their games.

Excited about the single team package. $130 is just too much but I'd be happy to pay $50 for access for the whole year, hopefully that would include the At Bat app as well.

Would I get the Diamondback games when they play on the road?

No, at least not in the past.
