Miller makes demonstrable improvements and they're thinking about sending him back to the minors? Brilliant. The guy struck out 19 in 12.0 IP with one BB and zero HR allowed during his two minor league starts. Miller's peripherals have been fine since his return. If it's just mental lapses that cause him to miss his spot at key moments, I have a hard time believing that's going to be fixed while he's posting a 0.75 WHIP and carving up guys in Visalia or Mobile.

Let's see what he can carve in Reno, since he passed the easy tests with flying colors.

While I would've liked to see him receive a couple more starts before this, at least he'll be away from Butcher.

TLR talking about Millers diet preparation problems on KTAR today.

http://arizonasports.com/story/740257/d ... rformance/

He was very vague and the Dbacks are not commenting anymore about it.

Im thinking he was pounding energy drinks on days he pitched. But who knows. Maybe nothing.

Yeah, like when Greinke had the flu

I'm still guessing the issue is more about his mechanics going to shit along with how all of this must be in his head now than something he is eating.

He should go Pegan without the grains, especially wheat and the like.

Can't wait for another organization to acquire Miller for pennies on the dollar and then fix him virtually overnight.

(This will happen eventually, but no chance in hell TLR's pride allows him to move on from Miller anytime soon.)

What's this??

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch wrote:
“Shelby had some misdiagnosis and he went backwards but we’ve got that out from behind him,” said La Russa. “We sent him out to Reno to get some worthwhile work.”

La Russa wouldn’t elaborate on the ailment other than to say, “It wasn’t evil or stupid. It’s something where we’ll respect his privacy."

Full story here.

This is depressing

Sources: The Diamondbacks have let teams know Shelby Miller is available in a trade. Price isn't nearly what it cost them eight months ago.

Got a great laugh on the Dbacks nation page. They are talking about what kind of package of Miller and Drury to get Chris Sale!

But would the new uniforms be safe?

I suppose that trading from a position of organizational weakness and selling low don't compare to:

1. Saving a few bucks.
2. Scapegoating a guy for the casual fan.
3. "Out of sight; out of mind".

Trading Miller now is basically the FO throwing a temper tantrum.

Miller has a 10.7 K/9, 1.9 BB/9, and 0.5 HR/9 in 38 IP in Reno. What is the point of keeping him down there?
