Since he made the club he gets his own thread. His first two starts will be against Kershaw and Bumgarner. Tough draw for the kid. I'll be at the game in SF, I'd like to say I'll give some feedback but any observations from me will not be useful!

I'm hoping to make it out to the Saturday game.

I was wondering the other night while watching him pitch if he may be less susceptible to elbow injury because he played so much football as a kid.

Dissection of Bradley's 1st 2 starts, including command issues and a crazy GB rate

During Archie's first game it was pointed out by Brenly that Ted Barrett, the home plate umpire, was notorious for a small strike zone. That could account for the high BB rate and the high pitch count.

Right, in a sample size of 2 games... a stingy ump can certainly influence the data.

The service time deadline has passed.

Were his two starts worth it?

Someone should start a poll.

I don't think we need a poll to tell us what we already know: Not a bloody chance in hell those 2 starts were worth the yr of control the team lost. Just another example of a short-sighted FO.

Isn't some player suing his team because of this service time manipulation? I say its best to do things in an honest manner.

Kris Bryant? I think it was just a threat, that didn't actually happen. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard anything of it other than a few mentions in ST. quick google search doesn't really show anything.

edit-

Seems more like a "should he?"

My guess is they intend to lock Archie up long term after the 2016 season, something his agent (BBI) did with the Rangers and Kinsler after his second MLB season.

Remember when we were all terrified/convinced that Towers was going to trade Bradley for a used piece of chewing gum?

It's amazing that, given KT's MO here, that he in fact DIDN'T trade Archie.

Hit in the face by a line drive tonight.

Looked bad, hopefully it winds up not being as bad as it looked. He is still at St. Joseph's having tests done right now according to the booth.

More proof that pitchers should start wearing helmets.

In the post game Hale and Crenshaw both said it was pretty good news. Obviously some swelling and stuff, but no structural damage (cheekbone/orbital) and his vision is fine. Hale said they might go in the direction of a short DL stint. Crenshaw was saying that they are going to have their Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist reevaluate AB tomorrow. There is something with his sinus that I didn't really catch.

Hale was saying they were updating the Rockies as they were getting news. He was in Oakland when McCarthy was hit.

AB's being interviewed now and says he feels fine. No headache. Said he's lucky since the ball came off the bat at 115 mph.

Said he's ready to get back and help this team win.
