Off clothes, I heard Sutton, in commenting on the Dbacks' fans knowledge on Gambo's show, say that with fans like the Dbacks have, he should wear a clown's suit to the games. I don't think he had much respect for the fans here.
When did Sutton say that...After he got dumped,I hope...
It's very exciting to get B.B. back...I thought it was too much to hope for...
I have to say,Im happy with the F.O. so far between this and the C.Y. deal....
It was probably a week or two before he was dumped.

I don't think Daron has made any public comment about anything since before his suspension. He hasn't said a word since his dismissal so I doubt he would have appeared on the radio before that. If he had, I would think we would have heard about it.

You seriously think that Sutton made no public comments before his suspension? He was on the radio talk shows all the time.

I highly doubt he ever said that. If true, where is the proof?

No, I meant he hasn't said anything publically about his suspension or dismissal since it happened. He's been uncharacteristically quiet.

It is funny that now that I know it is Daron Sutton doing this game, it has gone from a maybe to definite.

Saw last nights game and recognized Daron's voice. So I guess, among other things, he works for the PAC 12 Network. Based on a comment he made during the game, he still resides in the Phoenix area.

Would love to hear him call a game with this years team.

DS and TB would be a good booth, imo (other than the fact both are play by play guys) Past a diving Clayton, and into LF....

If you grew up in phoenix in the 70's and were a baseball fan you had the game of the week on Saturday and Vin Scully on the radio calling Dodger games.
Why do you think we have so many Dodger fans in Phoenix. They grew up with the best.
Now all the games are on TV.
We have one season left with Vin Scully and its over. Almost every team out there now has a "Carny Shill" calling the game.
Great article from an old SI story on Vinny. Here is a great quote.
Despite his long association with the Dodgers, he never roots on the air. He tells me what is going on, he tells me things about the game that I want to know.
http://www.si.com/vault/1964/05/04/6068 ... sistor-kid
We had a guy who grew up listening to Vin while his dad played for the Dodgers.
Sure when you listened to Sutt you knew he was employed by the team but he had that Scully in him, that Scully he grew up with. You learned things about the game.
I feel sorry for the kids today the only thing they have learned about baseball since Sutts been gone is where to buy an 18 inch deep fried corn dog.
End of rant I gotta go outside and tell those damn kids to get off my lawn again!

My main problem with Sutton was that when you teamed him with Grace they clowned around way to much. I know baseball isn't life and death, but they were a bit much.
As for Vin Scully, I grew up in Phoenix in the 70's and Scully is still my pick for best sports broadcaster ever. It's not even close.
