Last weekend a developmentally disabled girl turned 10. Her mother was disheartened that nobody had RSVP'd to attend the party, so she turned to Facebook and it turned into the best day of the girl's young life.

We had this happen to our youngest son minus the social media miracle. It really sucked. I know many of these kids parties can be a PIA but it would be really cool to attend if at all possible when you receive an invite.
I have been guilty of blowing a few off and in hindsight I did not have a truly good reason to do it. After our experience I would never blow one off again unless it was absolutely necessary.
We had a whole big party planned at a place called Monkey Business. Sent out invites and received zero rsvp's. I convinced myself and my wife that the kids would show up and their parents were probably just not good at rsvping. Not one kid showed up. I dont think anyone was scarred for life but I felt really bad. In the glass half full we had birthday cake for about a week and birthday boy got to use all the tokens we had bought for the party.
