They will be opening for Lamb of God in SF in September.

Now that I'm here, I need to make it to one of your shows.

Listening to the new Smashing Pumpkins album Oceanic. I like it.

Lots of great music out there right now. The new Rhett Miller, Alejandro Escovedo, Shurman and Bodeans are all getting spins right now for me.

Here is my latest top 10 in the HOT 100 Ipod playlist.

1. The Sound of a Million Dreams, David Nail. Country songs that name check classic artists are all the rage right now and this one is pretty darn good.

2. Even the Losers, Pat Green. Mr. Texas takes this old Tom Petty tune and makes it his own. Love this song.

3. 45, Gaslight Anthem. Their new single.

4. All The World, Bodeans. Sammy is out? This sucks big time but Kurt still gets it done with the new CD.

5. Labrador, Aimee Mann. Her first single has Aimee back to doing what she does best.

6. Some Nights, Fun. Great band with Arizona ties their title track of the breakout CD.

7. Just a Song, John Eddie. This guy is so good. If Kenny Chesney got a hold of this song it would be a monster hit.

8. Go Easy, Lucero. Still pissed I missed their Arizona and SD shows.

9.You Ain't Goin' Nowhere, Counting Crows. Their new CD of cover songs is full of outstanding stuff.

10. The Walk, Mayer Hawthorne. You like old time Motown? Then go get his CD How Do You Do and thank me later.

Baroness will release their 3rd lp, a double album called "Yellow and Green", suceeding the "Red Album" and the "Blue Record" in July. They have release 3 tracks so far. I highly recommend them. They are an amazing progressive hard rock band. They have a good sludge metal following but I've never classified them as a metal band. Lots of talent, great instrumental breaks, etc. Guitars, bass, drums; just like it should be. The second song has great melodies.

It's funny how much a lead singer can fuck up a song. Roddy delivers a great baseline, Puffy gives a great drum track, and Jim brings it will an excellent solo but Chuck Mosley shits all over the place with his horrible vocals.

I've been enjoying this band lately. They are from Norway and all the lyrics are in Norwegian.

The new OCMS is outstanding.

Love the new Ruebens Accomplice.

Calexico, Mumford & Sons, and Gaslight Anthem all have great singles out there.

Its been fun driving the JEEP listening to tunes this summer.

Baroness, one of my favorite bands suffered a tragic accident. While touring in Europe, the tour bus went off the road during a downpour. The bus fell 30ft. The driver is in critical condition, the vocalist/guitarist broke and arm and a leg and both the bassist and drummer broke vertebrata. It's going to be a long recovery but at least they lived through it. Something similar happened to Metallica and Cliff Burton died in the accident.

I hope they come back with a fire because they are a great band.

This was the tour bus

That is awful and eerily similar to what happened to Cliff. Damn.

I got to see my first SF concert this weekend. Devin Townsend Project. Luckily he played one of the Ziltoid songs.

Another one

A musical genius. He has an amazing vocal range.

Thanks to BOND for pre-concert hospitality.

Don't think I've posted anything from Foxy Shazam here. Extremely fun group to see live.

There's an actual video they made for the song, but I think this one captures the tongue-in-cheek nature of the song better.

I ignored this band for a long time but I recently checked out some of their music and it is pretty good.

Down has a new EP out. Just simple bass, drums, guitar, and strong vocals. Very Sabbath-like. Classic Down.
