Is this going to be like a what are you listening to now thread?

I am not currently listening to any music, but recently I found a Scottish singer named Amy MacDonald. I really like her voice.

Scottish accents are awesome...

Yeah. Well, really, it doesn't matter. What you like, what you're listening to... just whatever the old thread was about.

Been listening to Tift Merritts new one.

Also some old Refreshments tunes. Old guitar man Brian Blush joined RCPM on stage the other night. Brought back some great memories. Never thought I would see the day that would happen again. :o

Listening to Casey Neill and the Norway Rats--sounds like Bruce Springsteen meets The Clash at the Pogues house.

I like Incubus. Even though they haven't had anything new for awhile

Funny you should mention Incubus. I've had Zee Deveel stuck in my head all morning. Great song and one of the best albums of the last few years IMO. They are a very talented band and they're expecting to have an album out in 2011. I can't wait.

I didn't even know Incubus was still around. When was their last album? 2006? 2007?

EDIT- Looked it up. End of 2006.

Iron Maiden - Wasted Years

I'm really not much of a Maiden fan, I like it louder and heavier but I've always like this song.

Machine Head did a blistering take on Hallowed Be Thy Name.

I've also been listening to a lot of Napalm Death lately. My car has a usb jack and I can fit almost all my music on a 32GB drive. I leave it on random and for some reason my car just LOVES playing Napalm Death for me! You haven't experienced metal until you've listened to Napalm Death. Blistering blast beats, crushing rhythms, and hooks that will tear you a new one.

On the <somewhat> lighter side, there is Baroness. They are a rock band out of Georgia. They have that southern metal sound that bands like Clutch, COC, and Down have. They are very talented with great guitar work.

Baroness is pretty good. Although I've always disliked the vocalist.
Not a big metal guy, but I love southern style metal.
They're already big bands, so I'm not really introducing anything to anybody... but you can't go wrong with some Maylene and some ETID.
Well, actually, you can go wrong with Maylene, as their newest album wasn't very good...
Good thing I saw them live when they were still in their prime. :D

I'm getting my 80's guilty pleasure fix today. John Sykes with a monster solo on this one.

Kids music. You want to see some talent, and some good songwriting...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Exw7QAq ... re=related

I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time... This is a great tune... corny, kids music, but still really really good IMO.
