At 1-7, the Arizona Coyotes select C Clayton Keller. SBN had him as the 4th best prospect in the draft. Here is his SBN draft profile. Good passer, sees ice well.

#Coyotes on the stage and address defensive needs by taking Jakob Chychrun.

Datsyuk's contract*
He is likely done with the NHL. This would be similar to Alexander Radulov, who left the Predetors after 2 seasons for the KHL and when he came back was still under contract with Nashville and had to finish it. He only played in 9 games and the playoffs when he did. He appears to have gone back to the KHL.

Apparently, we take the cap hit, but don't have to pay anything else so that part really doesn't hurt us. It seems like we are heping Detroit and they are helping us (taking Vitale). I am liking what I am seeing about Chychrun.

#Coyotes select defenseman Patrick Kudla at No.158. Kudla is committed to ASU for next season.

Dawn Braid named Coyotes skating coach

Quote:
"It's something that I've wanted to see happen," Braid said. "The fact that they respect what I do enough to name me as a full-time coach, or to name me as the first female coach in the NHL, I take a ton of pride in that. I've worked very hard for this opportunity. It's been going on for years and I just look forward to going even further with it."

Coyotes, ASU take first step in possible construction of arena at the northwest corner of McClintock Drive and Rio Salado Parkway on Karsten Golf Course

I'll miss Karsten, but it'd be great to have the Coyotes on this side of town. As a hockey fan in the far SE Valley it has been tough getting to more than a game or two each year. I'd consider season tix if this happens.

I agree, it'll be nice to have the Coyotes on the east side of town.

On the Karsten note, I think we'll see a lot more of this happening as golf courses are repurposed with the rapid declining interest in golf, especially among millennials. The Cubs new Spring Training facility replaced Riverview Golf Course recently too. I can tell you that in the luxury real estate community, this rapidly declining in interest in golf is a real topic of conversation. We won't see many, if any, new golf course communities built in the future, and the bigger question is what will be the best uses for the golf courses that disappear. Green parks are one of many items being discussed as replacements.

Sorry for the golf hijack. Yes, it will be great having the Coyotes here on the east side! ;)

Now that I have SlingTV, I see what some were complaining about sometimes with mobile updates being faster. Reider just scored, and I got the update like 30 seconds before the online tv showed it. lol.
