Current status of the NFL:

Very Good: New England, Dallas
Good: Oakland, Seattle, maybe even Detroit
Bad: Cleveland, Jacksonville, San Francisco, Chicago
Mediocre: Everyone Else

That doesn't mean that a mediocre team can't get hot at the right time and win it all, but there are a LOT of average teams this year. A third of them were supposed to be good and weren't, a third were supposed to be bad and kind of are and the other third are just treading water.

...The Chiefs have 1 more win than the Lions and a win on Thursday ties them for the division lead with Oakland. Chiefs beat Oakland 26-10, in week 6.

Cards manage a 31-23 win over the Skins today. Play of the game came with 3:47 to go in the game, Cards had it 4th & 1 at their own 34 and a 24-23 lead. They DID NOT punt, and Johnson took it for a first down. That led to a big TD to seal the deal.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians retires after five seasons.

I wonder does Carson and Larry follow

As expected. Carson may follow, but I predict Larry will be back next season even with the many promised big changes.

Carson made it official today. He is on a family vacation, so obviously he made up his mind a while ago. We were lucky to have him while he was here.

So, the team needs a coach and a QB. I say they look for a package deal like the Vikings OC Pat Shurmur and whichever of their free agent QB's they don't bring back - Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater or Case Kenum. Teddy probably stays in MN, but either of the other two could be a good bridge to a QBoTF. Plus, they would already know Shurmur's offense.
