I didn't watch the first exhibition game. Doesn't look like it went very well.

Anyone watch and have thoughts ?

My Giants sucked too.

It's just pre season...yada yada yada

Had a gut feeling the Cards would struggle to meet expectations this year.

I decided not to keep Carson Palmer in my FFB league even though I had him on a reasonable contract.

And when I asked a buddy of mine who works with and knows NFL really well which top rated NFL defense most likely to disappoint this year, he picked the Cardinals.

Thats a tough loss in the first game of the year.

They can get better, for sure. But obviously a lot of hand wringing going on in Cardinals Nation tday

How the fuck can the video refs not overturn that spot ?

The guy stepped out of bound 3 fucking times at least before getting hit.

Corruption or ineptitude? He was so clearly out of bounds - 3 times!

Does an Arizona loss to SFO tonight pretty much kill Cards playoff chances, or is that already dead

A loss would be a killer, but even with a win they have work to do. They'll need to win some road games. Most importantly, when Palmer comes back he needs to get his groove back. So far his completion % is his worst since 2008 and that was the year he only played 4 games. Maybe the concussion will knock the screw back straight, because if he goes all year with this poor accuracy the team is going nowhere.

Well, AZ won it, but didn't look all that great. Great running game from Johnson, and Larry being Larry, got it done. 49ers still a disaster. What are the Cards going to do if Stanton goes down before Grandpa Carson comes back?

In the first 5 minutes of today's game vs. SFO, these guys in red look like a bunch of 80 year old ladies with 50 pound packs on their back. Damn! had a week off, they CAN'T be tired.
FINALLY, Michael Floyd catches one and HANGS ON TO IT (WTF Nelson??) and looks they're in the game now.
*
Touchdown pass to Johnson with 3:55 to go in the first. Expecting Cards to blow these Bay Area Bums clean out of the valley. Krapper-Dick has been sacked once already.
First quarter ends with SF fumble.
*
Johnson TD early in the second.14-0 AZ, and the rout is on.And then SF comes back with a quick TD. What's going on with this crappy coverage, guys? WOW, even Palmer can take off for long runs!! 16 yards, longest of his career they say :!:
*
Wow. We have 4th-1 and settle for a field goal. SF has 4th-1 and get a first down!! As the first half ends, ball on the 1 and they settle for another field goal. Good thing they're playing SF. That kind of chicken play could well backfire against a REAL team.
*
Third quarter opens with Grandpa dropping the football! And Krapperdick responds by getting his ass planted in the turf. And they get a field goal and the margin is 7. 49ers shut out opponent in opener then lose the next 7. First team to do that since the 1925 Dayton Triangles  3:22 to go in the third and Nelson F's up another one and Grandpa is picked off.
*
Thank heaven for SF penalties, huh? Can't get one yard when we need it, can we? This is painful to watch. * 6:17 to go in the game, 4th down at their own 4 and defensive holding bails them out. 100 yards in penalties from SF today. * Johnson, 7 yards on first down, nothing on second down, and Palmer gets it to Larry for the first down. Where would the Cards be without Larry??
* So now at midfield, the Cards go down for at least a field goal to have a 10 point lead late, right? OOPSIE! Palmer's throw ends up in the hands of a guy in a WHITE jersey. Are we going overtime, AGAIN??
*
1:55 to go in the game, Kapernick runs untouched for the game TYING touchdown!
And the Cardinals join the Diamondquacks, Suns, and Coyotes in the land of Sports Mediocrity.
*
And the Cards get a game winning field goal at the final gun. Lucked out

Washington, Minnesota, and Tampa Bay all have 6 wins in the hunt for the second wild card.
Arizona stumbling along with only 4. Starting to look like the Cards will miss the playoffs, just like the other pro sports teams in AZ.

Pretty much a MUST win for the Cards today as they are playing the Redskins, one of three teams they are battling for a wild card spot.
