Any around here?

Big fight coming up. Should have happened 5 years ago but I will probably be getting it.

Used to be a huge fan and covered the sport from the 70's thru the 90's.

UFC took over and never got into it and have lost interest in the sport over the years.

But this big fight has brought back some great memories. Youtube is great for finding some of the great fights of the past.

Also great documentary on HBO on Johnny Tapia whose career I covered.

If your a fan or were a fan whats your favorite fight of all time?

Here's five of mine.

1. Robert Quiroga W12 Kid Akeem, June 15, 1991. It was the greatest, most brutal fight I have ever seen. Ring Magazine called it the fight of the year. Both fighters were never the same and both have since tragically died.

2. Barrera vs. Morales I all 3 fights were great but the first one was an amazing Boxing after dark HBO fight.

3. Aaron Pryor KO14 Alexis Arguello, November 12, 1982 god what a great fight.

4. Hagler vs Hearns 3 round war. Just amazing.

5. Hearns vs Duran. Still the hardest single punch Ive ever seen. Was at this one live in Vegas and 3 hours after the fight Duran shows up in the casino and his entourage sang him happy birthday with a cake and he still didnt know who he was and where he was.

I'm not a fight fan, but I did meet Joe Frazier once when he made an appearance at the local hospital. His suit was very well tailored; so much so that it looked like, if he flexed his muscles, it would explode off his body.

Your description of Duran after the fight is hilarious!

Tony Ayala Jr. died today.

Most wont know who he was. He's was a a criminal. He was a bad man who did a lot of bad things.

He was also one of the most talented fighters I ever saw. He was the guy none of the greats wanted to ever fight and were glad they never had to.

Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, Durran all the greats didnt want a piece of the Baby Bull.
