The "Bar Tender" pitched for Colorado Springs (AAA Brewers) and gave up 4 runs in 1 inning against the Aces tonight.

I still don't get why Wilhelmsen is even on MLB teams radar, much less being a player with mulitple seasons under his belt. I went to Independent Tucson Toros games, I cringed when he came in... AGAINST AAAA PLAYERS (if that) AND FORMER HAS BEENS!

TW once walked the bases loaded, there was a double play turned by the shortstop that was Ozzie Smithesque. I remember thinking TW needs to buy him dinner tonight. Wish I remembered more than that so I could pull up a box score.

Interesting watching the all-star game, my 16 year old nephew is down from Iowa and I got to point out the D-back Allstars but then I started pointing out all the All-Stars we had like Mad Max, EI, JUP and finally on Saturday we were up at Friday's and I pointed out Adam Eaton as well (DL) was a D-back. He finally said to me why did we get rid of all these good players?! Just explaining it to him made me angry, frustrated, and little upset as well! He turned to me and said you really didn't like Towers and Stewart do you? I said about as much as a root canal!

Dawel Lugo moved to 2b by Tigers. This seemed inevitable.

He has 5 HR in 118 PA since the trade, but not much else, 239/288/413

Last time I saw Alex was at the Fantasy Camp game this spring coaching with Gonzo and chatting him up in Spanish.

Good for him!

Sources: Bryan Shaw's deal with the Rockies is for three years, for something in the range of $9 million annually.

Wait,, what ? Shaw is a good reliever, and an oft overlooked "throw in" from the Didi/Bauer trade that never should have been included.

Just stunning that he gets 3 yrs, 27 million though. That means teams are paying 9 million per 1 WAR from a non closer relievers.

But they said all that additional revenue from the new TV deal would help the club keep pace... lol. The cost of not having a system capable of producing younger cost-controlled players making minimum/Arb keeps growing. Finding a league-average replacement on open market was too expensive when they were $4M-$5M/WAR, now that price is approaching $10M/WAR. Some teams can do that, but this ain't one of them.

Source: Fernando Rodney’s deal with the Twins is for $4.5 million with incentives that could up value to $6M with an option for same deal. @CraigMish on it.

That upset the D Backs didn't resign him, eh ?

J/K......if he saves 39 out of 45 again for Twins, won't be bad, as long as you don't watch every game every night. ;)
