agree, these balls are for shit. The leather changed. It's a corrected grain leather, not a full grain.

Corrected grain leather actually has the top surface buffed off, and then a large stamp machine stamps leather like grain emboss back on top of the surface of the leather. In this way the natural surface defects of the leather are buffed off and taken out, which allows for a much greater cutting yield. The amount of leather saved by doing this is anywhere from 15%-25%

This is a cost saving measure. Stupid.

That would definitely explain the uncharacteristic performances by some really good pitchers this post-season. First I've heard of it, so now I need to do some searching for player remarks about it.

Glad I wasn't the only one questioning the strike zone, that Ump was worse than Frank Drebin in Naked Gun.

But then, Bill Miller‘s fifty-foot-wide strike zone came back into play... In a series full of crazy things, the craziest play of all was asking a cleanup hitter to sacrifice bunt a hobbled already-slow runner so that a high-strikeout slugger could try to make moderate contact on a night where the strike zone was 10 feet wide.

And the difference is more than obvious to the eye.

How great is this world series. Looking tough for Houston to be able to end it tonight. Fingers crossed though. Ya never know.

I thought this series would go 7, looks like it will.

This will be the 3rd winner-take-all #WorldSeries game between 100-win teams, and first since 1931.

Home teams are 54-54 all-time in winner-take-all postseason games. The home team won the most recent one: Astros in this year's ALCS Game 7.

Just for my own curiousity. Seven game WS since 2000.
2001 World Series Dbacks come back home, down 3-2 to win the series. Dbacks home field advantage.
2002 World Series Angels come back from a 3-2 series to win it, and had home field advantage.
2011 World Series the Cardinals had home field advantage and won games 6 and 7 after falling behind 3-2.
2014 World Series the Giants were up 3-2, going to KC, but the Royals would lose in game 7 thanks to Bumgarner.
2016 World Series the Indians led 3-1, and lost to the Cubs at home.

I hope the Astros can be more in line with the 2014 WS. (Yes, I know past results have nothing to do with this series.)

The last time the Dodgers were in a World Series game 7, they won, in 1965 over the Twins. Overall, they are 2-1, though two of those were in Brooklyn.

I may, or may not, have left my phone on coffee table next to the Tommy Lasorda gnome and Vin Scully coin SGA's that have remained in same place since beginning of NLCS, softly playing "I Love LA" on repeat all night... (possibly used as evidence in future divorce proceedings)

That's way too much Randy Newman, but if they win they'll definitely have deserved it.

2-0 Stros. They have the foot on the gas out of the gate.

Keep an eye on Turner throwing the ball after getting hit on the elbow.

Verlander, last nights starter, is throwing in the Houston BP. The last time a game 6 starter came in in relief the next night was.... us.
