Actually the A Rod thing was kinda funny, in an offensive sort of way

Gotta figure A-Rod and Braun are the two most tested players in baseball. Either they have a great masking agent (and chemistry has been one step ahead of the law on this the whole time), or they're playing clean and still putting up good numbers.

Putting up good numbers, but a substantial reduction in Brauns case, with A-Rod getting considerable help from being mostly a DH, and having a year+ hiatus to recover his fountain of youth.

Braun's numbers are definitely down from his peak years, but they're not out of line with a natural career downturn for a 31 year old player coming off an injury, and they're better (even ballpark adjusted) than someone like Matt Kemp, who is a year younger and has a similar career arc.

Braun, like A-Rod, has made a career of continually cheating, lying, and staying a step ahead of the testers until the next time they get caught. No credibility.

And TAP, I don't discount that. I believed Braun and he disappointed me. For a couple years there he had numbers that are simply skewed to the rest of his career. But Matt Kemp does too, and he's never been connected to any kind of PEDs.

America Has Spoken: MLB Steroid Users Should Lose A Third Of Their Stats

Can't be enforced, but seems about right.

I have always thought similarly. I still think Clemens and Bonds are HOF material taking away some of their stats. They would be borderline HOF though (Rabbit Maranville, anyone?)
